Thoughts on a monday evening.. Let's be honest. Life with a fusion is not easy peasy all the time. I started this day feeling fine, at a certain moment i actually thought to myself "notice how good you feel these days! No way the pain you feel at times is a problem!" But i'm sitting here in my kitchen as i'm cooking now, feeling a little desperate and frustrated cuz what i'm thinking NOW is that i will probably need one more surgery. Not sure if it's the metal or the left joint between l2 and l3 (i'm fused t4-l2) but sometimes when i sit for prolonged moments i get this feeling that something is stuck and it hurts pretty bad. Had found a way to crack it back to place but that already felt like something i shouldn't be supposed to live with and today the pain is so intense i don't know what to do with myself. Good thing i have my soft corset to keep me in place so i can relax. I'd explain the feeling as though a muscle in my lumbar back hooks to the metal and stays on the wrong side of it.. does it even make sense? Is it possible? Anyone experiencing the same? All i know is that i haven't felt this way, so intense, since almost a year ago now and even though i tried to tell my surgeon about it and he didn't really take his time to try to understand, i'm gonna try again. Just not that up for another surgery though i can't see other solutions for whatever it might be. For now i mostly want to figure out what's going on. . I want to mention though that this morning i woke up feeling completely ok again with no pain so far. This is what gets me confused and keeps me in the same spot. When i feel fine, as i do most of the time, i see no point in doing something about it but i really would like to know what happens when i feel that pain, if i'm slowly ripping a muscle with the hardware or something else that with time could cause bigger problems.
My name is Mike. I have the #scoliosis so shirts don't fit right, but my back feels fine as long as I do the Yogas. #BeLikeMike #ScoliosisStrong #YogaHeals

Feel like I haven't posted in a while because not much has happened but I thought I would update you as two days ago I went to my first Physio session. I have been having really sore shoulders and finding it hard to sit unsupported and my surgeon said exercise would make it better and I don't need Physio but I really wanted some as I wanted some advice so I went to a private Physio. They were super nice but said my whole back is kind of messed up from my muscles not moving since before the op and that's why it hurts because everything is so stiff and something to do with acid making it feel like burning but I can remember lol. She gave my some massages which really hurt as my muscles are so tight and everything was grinding and I also hate people touching the numb parts but afterwards it did give me relief. I have also been given lots of exercises to do everyday to help loosen things up like the exercise in the first two pictures (rolling shoulders with a resistant band) which will hopefully improve things by my next appointment in 3 weeks time. The third picture is to also show from not using my muscles how my posture isn't great with that lovely flab of skin on the right hip and squint shoulders but this should get better with my Physio's advice. She also said that my scar wasn't looking very great as it was very tight and not moving and the bottom of it is quite lumpy and hard which she either said is a keloid scar or a hypertrophic scar which is why she has put tape on my scar as it will help these problems too apparently. Hope you guys are all doing well and sorry if what I post is boring I just don't know what to post :/ #scoliosis #scoliosissurgery #physio #physiotherapy #spinalfusion #operation
